About: Sensei Madelein - 2nd Dan Black Belt
Sensei Madelein started her karate career at the age of 7 in 1997. She soon climbed through the ranks and in 2003 she was the youngest female in South Africa with the highest grading, 1st Dan Black Belt. Sensei Madelein has been part of Shotokan karate for 15 years to date and she currently holds a 2nd Dan Black Belt. She will soon travel to Japan for her next grading.
Currently, Sensei Madelein holds both Northern Gauteng and SA colours and also represented South Africa at several World Cup Championships, frequently placing amongst the Top 3.
